Singapore was occupied by the Japanese from 1942 to 1945. During this time 130 000 British, Australian and Indian soldiers were taken as prisonors of war. This dark period of Singapore's history is remembered by memorials around the city. There are also great educational spots to help you learn more about Singapore's efforts in WWII.
