The Betel Box Backpacker Hostel is a cosy, fully restored 1920s shophouse in the Katong Heritage District. With broadband, air conditioning and a healthy breakfast all included in the price it is no wonder this is a favourite with the backpacking crowd. The staff here are professional tourist guides and organise free tours and activities every week. Prices range from SGD 20 to 60 a night.

The Lonely Planet called The Hive a “..small, intimate but sociable hostel..” and it certainly lives up to that reputation. Established for several years this hostel has free breakfasts, internet acess, WIFI and local calls. There is a variety of accommodation types including single, double and twin rooms as well as dorms – prices range from SGD 20 – 55.

Lollypopcorn Youth Hostel
